Young Swirl's Strangest Moments!

Me: *Tries to sneak in past you guys*
You Guys: *Turns around* SWIRL!
Me: *Stops and doesn't move*
You Guys: SWIRL, WE- er, what are you doing?
Me: Um... you... can't see me?
You Guys: No, um, preeetty sure we can see you.
Me: Darn.
You Guys: Anyways, as we were saying... SWIRL, GOODNESS, WHY DID IT TAKE YOU THIS LONG TO ACTUALLY POST AGAIN?!
Me: Eheheheh...

Yeah, uh, sorry about that! I had quite a bit of stuff to do last week, and I've also just been kinda out of ideas lately.
But hey, guess what- it's a 5-day-weekend for me! It started on Thursday, but, uh, yeah!
So POSTING TIME! XD!

First off, I suppose I'll start with showing you this Masterpiece I've been working on!

I know a couple of you know what this is, but for those of you that have no idea, this type of Masterpiece is called a Friendship Quilt! The original idea was made by Ocean8Froggy- basically, you design a Masterpiece that looks like a quilt, and all of them include borders with patterns, stitched hearts in the corners, your main animal and pet in the center, and your animal's paw prints in the top center with stitch marks around them too! The rest, like the colors and patterns, are entirely up to whoever makes it! A couple of us bloggers thought this was a great idea, so we went ahead and started making our own versions!
And, as you can see, that one up there is how mine looks so far! I have to say, I'm very proud of how my wolf turned out, and I even made it my new Blogger profile picture, as some of you may have already noticed, XD!

And, if anyone's wondering about the pattern I started on the right border, it's going to be an Owl City themed border, filled with music notes and pictures of things that were mentioned in Owl City songs! The wing is from Up All Night (although now that I think about it, it'd work better with On The Wing, XD!), the bug is from Fireflies, and the flower is from Plant Life (although he mentions flowers in plenty of his songs, XD!) Gonna add more soon!

Okay- now that we've gotten past that, how about we do something I've been wanting to do for a while now?
I'm going to be looking back at... *lowers voice to a whisper*
Cringey beginner-blogger Swirl.
Know how I always say that you guys should NEVER look back at my super-old posts? This is the one time I'm encouraging it. XDD!

*Rubs hands together* Alright then! Prepare yourself!
By the way, the red underlined/circled/boxed parts in each picture are the parts I'm going to be referring to!

First off, seems Young Swirl was VERY excited to figure out the owl puzzle!
However, I'm not sure she thought about if OTHER people had figured it out on their own.
Favorite part: "YES FOLKS< (oops, that was a typo, haha!) YOU HEARD IT RIGHT!"
XDD!
Okay, so in this one, Young Swirl seemed to realize "Oh, these are owls- they don't have hands!", so she decided that saying "out of wing" would be better.
*Facepalms and laughs*
I... I don't know what I was thinking in this. 😅
 *Cracks up*
Safer Internet Items? How on Earth would AJHQ make something like that?!
What items did I think would be released- a "Safer Internet Table" and "Safer Internet Chair" or something?
I need to draw this, guys. I need to make up and draw some "Safer Internet items".
XDDD!
#1. Oh yes, that Heart Tree was TOTALLY Beta, wasn't it? Mhm, absolutely- the most Beta item of them all! *Nods*
#2. *Tries to keep from laughing*
I... *snickers* I'm pretty sure they've been to Aldan before, Young Swirl.
*Reads the red underlines part*
*Tilts head*
First... I think I spelled it "shirits". XDD!
And second, XD, it, uh, seems I was REALLY worried about sounding mean. I mean, it's a true fact, I guess- I apparently DID end up trading those shirts away for "Betas", but I guess I figured it sounding like scamming. Oops, ehehe!
#1. OOHH NOOO, WE MUST ALL TAKE COVER!!
XD, I was such an odd child
#2. ACK NO DON'T DO PUNSSSS!! XD!
 WOW.
THAT WAS AN AMAZING APRIL FOOLS JOKE.
I'M SURE EVERYONE WAS ABSOLUTELY FOOLED.
XDD!
 #1. Wow, XD.
And it seems I loved to use "LOL" back then, huh?
#2. "Poo."
Great job- absolutely the best wording you could've used, Young Swirl.
*Shakes head* I'm so confused at how I changed so much, guys. XDD!
*Gasps sarcastically* WHAT?! AJHQ WORKERS?! WHERE DID YOU COME UP WITH THAT IDEA- THAT'S JUST CRAZY!
Yeah, um... Young Swirl wasn't exactly the smartest. XDD!
Aaand just like that, its popularity immediately died... eheheh...
I guess I just really liked bouncy houses back then or something? *Shrugs* XD!
 O.O
*Facepalms*
*GASP*
LOOK YOU GUYS!!!
THIS IS WHERE IT ALL STARTED!!
THIS IS HOW WE ENDED UP WITH THE VERY-ODD TRADITIONAL SWIRLSHINE INTRO WE HAVE TODAY!! :O
The original one, uh, wasn't very good though. XDD!

Aaaaanyways, that's all I've got for now! It's, uh, really late now... XD!
Until next time, remember to party hard, be kind, and jam on, and I'll see you guys later!
*Salutes* XDD!

Ohh yeaahhh- actually, random fact, I actually got a comment at the time saying that is was a bad idea to make an April Fools joke about that, but I deleted it.
Idk- I do feel kinda guilty about that though. I don't know if it actually offended anyone else, but I'm not exactly proud of it. Young Swirl sometimes didn't think before she typed. :1
Now I think way too much before I type, XDD!
And aww, I'm sorry I worrieddddd yoooou! Even if that was a long time ago, XD!
      I'M FINE I PROMISE!! XD!

      9. XDDD- the one thing I DIDN'T say I liked in a very cheesy way.

  3. Story time with Kraft

once upon a time there was a cheezit named Kraft

Kraft decided to make a blog.
No, not a real blog. A fake one on a word document. I pretended... I pretended I had fans and stuff THE CRINGE
    I was 10.
    -
Once upon a time, Kraft decided to make up an internet identity.
She started with, gag, Mfurryfun AJ. She decided it was gross and was like
"I like aj and Minecraft.. BAM. AJCRAFT."
    So "AJcraft" was born.
In December of 2014, Kraft got a new laptop and could finally get Minecraft on pc. When making her account, she discovered to her horror that AJcraft was taken. Her dad tried to help her tweak it
Versions included "4Jcraft" and AJcraftt. She didn't like these. Suddenly it hit her.
    "huh I like webkinz"
    KABAM. AJKRAFT WITH A K.

Later on in 2016, I also made "E.J Kraft" which is my pseudonym.

Idk when I started going by just Kraft tbh

(today on aj I got a secret jag which called me a box of macaroni who cant draw. I hate the secret valentines SO MUCH AGH)
    -
ONCE UPON A TIME, KRAFT DECIDED TO WRITE A FANFIC DURING A CREATIVE WRITING CLASS AND HER TEACHER READ IT OUT TO THE ENTIRE CLASS.
it's ok I didn't use the characters actual names and swapped the genders so only I knew the truth
Also it wasn't one of THOSE fanfics if ur wondering
    -
Once upon a time, Kraft came up with a random story idea that now controls her life. Please buy it when it gets published in like 10 years or somethin
    -
    Ok so
    Here's a long story
Of the cringiest thing Kraft ever wrote.
In year 3 (age 7-8) we wrote these stories.
    Mine was really really dumb

The main character was named "Megan *my surname*". I liked the name Megan back then as you can tell from my gross aj username.
Megan liked animals and trained them. She had lots of animals including ferrets and turtles and trained them to do tricks and stuff.
One day an evil man stole all her pets. His name was, I kid you not THIS IS NOT A JOKE-
    "Ze@apomanjie"
Yes, with a @. I don't remember the exact spelling, but I remember it was pronounced zee-aye-@-po-man-gee

Megan and her friend who were bootlegs of my real friends, tried to find the pets. Then THIS IS NOT A JOKE they rained down form the sky. Megan won the pet show. The end

Also I remember this line for a some reason
    "Wow!" *friend* explained.
"apple sure was an amazing dog!" Commented *friend 2*
    -
Also in year 6 (age 10-11) we wrote Percy Jackson fanfics for a legitimate English topic.

    So yeah
    Kraft's quote of the day-
"Mum,Porgs are from Star Wars, not the Avengers"

    *flies say in zeppelin*
    -Kraft

    1. OHHHHHH, SO THAT'S HOW YOU CAME UP WITH THE NAME AJKRAFT!!! XD!

      And XDDDDD, OM, ZE@AOPOMANJIE
THAT IS THE GREATEST NAME EVER
      OM XDDDD!

AND SUCH AN AMAZING STORYYY!!! PETS RAINING DOWN FROM THE SKY AND A DOG NAMED APPLE! MAN, I WOULD SO WANT TO READ THAT- I'M NOT KIDDING. XDDDD!

    2. you don't want to read it

Why Kraft Was Bad At Writing Back Then aka writing advice

      1. Weird ways of replacing pronouns
see, we got told off for saying a name or he/she/them/it too many times, so stuff would be like
      "the large brunette sighed"
      "the small chicken clicked"
"the red eyed penguin stared into Kraft's soul"

      2. We couldn't use the word said. This seem reasonable but you get stuff like
      "wow!" Exclaimed Jackson
"I know right?" Replied his friend.
"I sure do love playing Minecraft with all my buddies!" He commented in reply
(note-I actually wrote this bit with different characters)

Also can I just say how annoying it is to not be able to use the names of two characters of the same gender that have the same coloured hair/eyes? Like
the brunette stared angry at the brunette who glared angrily back at him. He was his worst enemy. Once, the brunette hit him with a carrot

WHICH PERSON ARE WE TALKING ABOUT??

      3.LISTS

"She was short and thin, with amber hair and sapphire eyes. She wore a black jumper and a pair of jeans, as well as cowboy boots"

OK. EVERYONE LISTEN UP, WRITING ADVICE 101
Don't describe everything at once. For example, here's part of the first draft of the first chapter of my book.
"I hang my jacket on a tree branch"
      SEE. HE DOESNT SAY
"today I am wearing a jacket"
You have to feed stuff to the reader gradually. Another example in my book is that I describe how the protagonist burns faster in the sun than the other boys, which instantly lets the reader know that he's pale without explicitly saying it.

      4. Too much/little

In a story about a ww2 evacuee, I described the character waking up to the sounds of chickens (I WAS CHICKEN CRAZY OK). The teacher commented "is this needed"
Back then, it was quality not quantity. But the thing is, that phrase added to the atmosphere. Let's write a brief interaction between to random characters. I'll name then Fred and Freda.
Freda stared back at Fred, who had began to spin a fidget spinner.(sorrynotsorry)

See, we don't NEED to include the part about him fidgeting. But this instantly tells us he's nervous. Show, don't tell.

      TBC IN NEXT COMMENT

      Delete
    3. 5. Really dumb characters

Basically every character I wrote was a self insert Mary sue. Interestingly enough, I used to have entirely female protagonists whereas now it's the opposite. See, I used to love writing myself into scenarios. But the thing is, I got dull. I, or rather "Megan/Amelia/Amilie"(she had many identities) would always react to things the same way.
When writing my book (imma refer to it as KraftGears(NOT REAL TITLE)Instead of just my book from now on) I made sure to include characters from many different races, backgrounds and beliefs. It's really fun to put yourself in your characters shoes instead of just writing what you know. I've spent countless hours researching different ways of life because of it.

      6. The story
It's important to balance out story with characters. You might have great characters but a jumbled plot, or maybe a great plot but uninteresting characters. I used to focus entirely on the plot, but you cant do that.

A good plot needs the following qualities
      1. The reader should be able to relate. Dumb right? No. Think of all the YA books about teenagers overpowering governments and stuff. The reader read these and feels inspired to make a change to their own society. In KraftGears I'm implementing lots of allegories for the problems we face in day to day life, especially conflict based on peoples differing opinions.
      2. It needs a conclusion. Even if it's a cliffhanger.
What do I mean? Well, let's take a look at THE HUNGER GAMES *has flashbacks to bring obsessed*
At the end of the first book, it says something along the lines of "I grip Peeta's hand dreading the moment I will have to let go"
The audience wants to know what happens next, but aren't angry at the writer as the ending is still satisfactory. Would it be so satisfactory if the book had ended right before they won the games, when Katniss reaches for the nightlock? No. It would have felt our of place. No solid conclusion.
      3. It needs to be memorable. So many YA books slip under the radar because they're too similar. Either-
      •sad love story
      •teenagers overthrow government
      •teenagers deal with issues.

Now, imagine a YA book that's like, I dunno, Harry Pitter, but with the elderly. Something like that would be memorable. Heck, the reason booms get popular in the first place is for being unique.

      7. The dumbest part of all... The title.

Let's look at all my stories from junior school
"Megan and the pet show catastrophe"
"the incredible adventures of Margo Kenneth"( THIS WAS THE PERCY JACKSON MARYSUE FANFIC)
      "saving the seals"

Compare to an abandoned, more recent story.
      "How to be a Hero"
this story was bad but the title instantly provokes questions. What does it mean my hero? Is it literal or not?

Saving the sea lions is a BORING title. It provokes no questions. We know the book is about saving sea lions. Dont like sea lions? Ain't gonna pick it up.
"Megan and the pet show catastrophe" again, we can instantly tell what it's about. A catastrophe to do with a pet show.

Now look at something like Harry Potter and the philosopher's /sorcerer's stone. What is this stone? We don't know.
      "Warriors-The apprentices quest"
Who is the apprentice? What is this quest?
The title entices the reader into looking at the blurb.

Anyway that's enough for now. Hope ya'll liked a random English lesson :P

      -Kraft

But hey, I shouldn't get to call people's comments long when I made a 3-part one once. So I'll shush now. XD!

Well said though, Teacher Kraft, XD! All that is definitely good advice, and I'll be using it myself!

  4. the only thing you haven't changed is your pureness
like you changed a bit, like you improved your writing and you find your old stuff cringey and you're not afraid to be a lil impure (just a lil) but you're the #childatheart which is great honestly
kids our age only wish we could be as pure as you or Kraft
    smh -sigh- -facepalm- -sob-
we need to talk about Balloosh
i should write fanfiction about Balloosh because it's such a spicy land
    nobody steal my idea pls
    ok so
this is out of order but
    - Safer Internet Items, Swirl. *starts having thoughts* oh no.
    - why did you have to add captions to the owl video tho
    - i honestly like how every time you start a post, it's you just coming back from the store or the coffee shop or something and we're just like "oh it's you"
    - the intro to each post you make nowadays is just so pure and adorable tbh

*7th grade flashbacks* *shudder* ok well that's it la di da
i need to write an essay and finish a Mandarin project and tbh i thank Kraft for her great writer sacrifices for the good of the writing community
i might write the fanfic soon if i feel like it
don't count on anything because you know how my projects go
"I'M GOING TO WRITE A STORY!" "NEVER MIND I'M WRITING A MUSICAL!" -silence for like, a week- "I'M GOING TO WRITE A NEW STORY!"
i start them and never finish
    please help me.
also please don't think you were a weirdo, you were an amateur writer and blogger and some pretty cringey stuff happens no matter what
i found a musical you might like
it's called Waitress and it's about love and pies and a baby
    it's pretty great
or maybe Great Comet of 1812 but y'know
pretty much every good musical that exists has some level of swearing (though those two have a very low amount)
broadway is just so expressive and wonderful, i love it
and as for swearing itself, i believe it can be good for telling a story, because the words do mean things and i've seen them appear in books to describe an event or for dramatic effect
then again, i had my innocence taken away at the ripe age of 11 so what do i know
    byebye
    and remember, seize the dayyyy~
