Wow... it feel like it's been forever since I've typed up a post! I can't believe I didn't post for a whole MONTH... what a great "active blog" owner, am I right? :1
I want to apologize for that once again. I've had quite a few trips this summer, but that's no excuse, considering the time I had in between/after them. The main reason I haven't posted is simply because... well, I didn't know what to post ABOUT. I felt sorta unmotivated, and I think I can speak for a lot of us out there when I say that AJ started to get a bit boring. Not as easy to think of things to do when you've been playing for so many years. :1
A few of my friends and I were wondering what would happen if we all just... lost interest completely and started different blogs and all that. AJ hadn't really been interesting enough to post about lately, after all.
But after thinking about it... honestly guys, I could NEVER quit Animal Jam at this age. The game holds a lot of meaning to me, and I've just made a bunch of memories that I wouldn't want to leave behind when I quit. AJ may not be exciting all the time, but I feel like a lot of similar games are like that, and you just have to find ways to get back into the game again! So that's exactly what I'm working on right now, and I'm proud to say it seems to be successful so far!
Lost was actually the one who made me realize that, since she's gotten back into the game recently as well! (*Whispers* SORRY LOST, I DIDN'T MEAN TO COPY YOOOOOU! YOU'RE JUST INSPIRING SOMETIMES, I GUESS. XDD)
Anywho, I know I've already been blabbering for this whole post instead of getting to the good stuff... but... before we do that, would you all mind if I addressed an issue that's been on my mind? I just want to make everyone aware of certain things, so that problems can be solved and, y'know, our community stays a good one!
UH, IF YOU ANSWERED "NO, IT WOULD NOT BE ALRIGHT IF YOU DID THAT", THEN UM... I CAN'T HEAR YOU BECAUSE YOU LIVE SOMEWHERE TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAN ME AND THIS WILL ALREADY BE POSTED. SOOOOOO... SCROLL PAST I GUESS. IF YOU WANT. XD (Sorry for all the caps, whoops. I don't wanna retype all that though, so uh... *shrugs* XDD)

So, I'm sure most everyone knows already that our AJ Blogger community is a small one, but one that's rather close as well! By that, I mean that most bloggers are quite kind and friendly to the other bloggers out there, and a lot of us are good friends or at least share something with another blogger! All that is why I love the community, and I want to stay in it for as long as possible!
However, I'm aware that there HAVE been some tensions lately. And I'm not trying to scold you like a mother or anything like that (XD), but... I don't know. I don't want our community being torn apart or anything because of arguments!
So basically, my message to everyone out there is rather simple.
Please, try to be respectful of others and their opinions, and if you disagree with an opinion and feel the need to say so, please do it politely. It really doesn't help to get angry and retaliate, especially continuously. I've found that only makes problems much worse. We all have our opinions for our own reasons, and of course they aren't always the same as others'! But please, if you want to voice your agreement or disagreement with something, please think about if what you're saying will hurt or anger others before you post it! Standing up for what you believe in is totally fine - I'm actually a huge supporter of doing that! But I'd suggest making sure that when you do that, you're not offending anyone else who thinks differently!
I wouldn't ever name names for something like this, but I'm sure if you haven't exactly been being respectful to as many people as possible lately, you know who you are. And I'm not technically blaming anyone either! You know in your heart which kind of person you are!
ALRIGHTY. *Dusts hands off*
Now that I've gotten THAT out of the way... how about we move along to some good ol' AJ? XD

Now this species, everyone, is one that is quite rare, called the Glowing Bulbamoth.
It uh... has a bulb. As a head.
And it glows.
And uh... I don't really know how it can see. Can it? WE MAY NEVER KNOW. XDD
(Okay, but yeah, it's actually just one of those Glow-Glo moths layered under this bulb-thingy I was carrying. BUT A NEW SPECIES WAS STILL BORN THAT DAY! XD)
No, she didn't just change her animal or outfit and I just kept the non-updated profile up! It literally changed her outfit by itself. Quite odd, if you ask me. XD

I doubt this glitch still works, but when flamingos first came out, I believe, there was a glitch where if you put a Heart Balloon on, it changed into a Clover Blanket of the same colors on the Change Your Look screen! Kinda like that old seal glitch, hehe!
Hehehehe... looks like Twilight from MLP is flyin' away! (I was a cheetah and did the Play action... XD)
Yeah... I respawned and then got immediately chased and attacked. Fun. XDD

But hey, I love the direwolves anyway! They can be quite cute and/or funny, imo (maybe that's just because I'm a fan of pretty much all wolves and dogs, though... XD)!
Again, not sure if this one still works, but when I first got a sabertooth (which I also actually like! C'mon guys, these extinct animals can be cute if dressed up the right way! XD), I put a Lei on and realized that a Beard of matching colors appeared as well!
Huh. I actually don't own a Beard item, so... are they head items? Or neck ones? Anyone know? XD

Ok so first and foremost I went on holiday to Mallorca.
LIST OF THINGS THAT HAPPENED THERE
1-we got scammed by the car rental
2-I swam in the villa's pool and floated in a giant inflatable donut
3-I played 40 hours of xenoblade chronicles 2 on my switch... Somehow..
Look up xenoblade nopons they r small little PUFFY CREATURES
My favourite character is this fella called Zeke who is very relatable because he's a dork with awful luck. He has a pet turtle who he loves. And he talks in this really great OTT posh British accent.
Anyway so
4-there was building works next to our villa and.. Ok get this
The piece of land dug up RIGHT NEXT TO OUR VILLA CONTAINED OVER 100 SKELETONS
Now that is creepy. It even made the news there o.o
Anyway so after Mallorca, we went off in our campervan to Wales which was a fun time but gosh, 6 days was a little too much! On the last day, we visited my great uncle and aunt. My great aunt is HILARIOUS. My family plus our dogs were in the back of her car while she drove around looking for a parking space and she kept saying things along the lines of
"should I run over these tourists?? Hmmm..." It was so funny i was crying lol
Also during when i was camping, there was a Super Smash Bros ultimate direct but the campsite WiFi was slow so i had to watch the whole thing in a restaurant and i was trying not to scream because one of my favourite characters has been added and i was just like

this is part of the reason my blogs have never held up. that, and i don't really completely have interest in it. blogging just ain’t my thing.
i've definitely started playing AJ less but i play for friends and dens and that sort of thing. i use firealpaca for art, so there's no need to make masterpieces anymore for me. layers are much easier to work with, and it's just so much smoother. i'm drawing some fanart for Welcome to Night Vale right now and it's going really nicely, other than the fact that i have no idea how to do color digitally and i'm bad at lettering aha. i might actually just use my blog to post art on, or occasionally monthly posts, who knows. quality > quantity in my opinion.
about the conflict of differing opinions in the community- i've definitely seen that lately, and i've even been a little involved. i don't think it's a matter of people getting mad over others having different opinions, i think it's that people treat their opinions as fact. i've been guilty of that before too. i've had a lot of existential crises over the simple fact that everybody's "facts" could really be opinions- humans don't really know. humans are smart, but we're not THAT smart. we can create stuff, but we can't completely comprehend stuff. so we got two things to aid us in that, because we just have to know: religion and science. the war has been going on ever since.
also, in a world where anything can offend anyone, unless you know that you, yourself, are not easily offended, it's really hard to even let out even a little bit of your own thoughts and what you've noticed and learned. i've also noticed a lot of people don't look on both sides. and some people whine about how other people won't bother to look on both sides, but they don't themselves. or maybe they do, but they just scoff at the other side. "i'm better than you, other side, there's nothing you can do about it."
individual people can easily become part of a hive mind, whether it's their upbringing or some extreme opinions they become exposed to. remember that even you could be on one of those extremes- reality checks help a lot. (but the other day i saw a sign that said "oops my reality check just bounced" and that made me laugh so i just wanted to say that ahaha)

i also tend to be an offensive person, to both sides. i regularly make fun of groups of people. i regularly make fun of groups of people using stereotypes. i only do it when the time calls for it so you don’t have to worry. comedy is making fun of things, after all. but every offensive thing that is well-crafted has a nugget of truth. many great writers, comedians, satirists, cartoonists, and more out there become so great because they know how to form a good argument. they know how to look at the facts. they've been noticing and learning stuff about something for a while. and now, they turn it into humor, satire, and more. people get offended when somebody calls out the flaws in their group or opinions, especially when that somebody has evidence and common sense to back themselves up.
ReplyDeletei mean, without offending at least a few people, how would we voice our opinions and thoughts? but maybe, maybe just sometimes, you should try to stop being offended. flexibility is often a really nice thing to have. (DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT SAYING WE SHOULD ATTACK PEOPLE, INSULT THEM, OR CURSE THEM OUT. BUT I AM SAYING PEOPLE IN THIS COMMUNITY TEND TO BE SENSITIVE, ESPECIALLY SINCE WE'RE MOSTLY YOUNG TEENAGERS.)
there's also clear majorities and minorities in this group. for example, bloggers with a blog > bloggers w/out a blog. doesn't really effect much. a much bigger one though, is religious people > non-religious people. and that's sort of caused a schism, even if it isn't voiced as much as it could be. it’s a very invisible schism. but it’s definitely there. both sides also feel vulnerable to judgement, even if one is less likely to be judged than the other. this is a super fragile group, whether we like it or not- it’s difficult to find a common interest other than AJ and even that’s going downhill.
religion and politics can really affect a group, depending on how strong it is. i mean, i just got up the courage to voice my own opinion in the group and i’m scared as doodly-do. others say they’re nervous about speaking their mind (not naming names) when over half the group is almost guaranteed to be on their side.
people are just so passive aggressive when they say, “everybody has their own opinions.” a lot of people treat their opinion as fact, whether they realize it or not.
y'know, sometimes i wish we were European, aha. religion, i hear, doesn't matter in Europe. nobody cares. they rarely talk about it. they just want their memes.
but we gotta remember, EVERYONE ON EARTH IS SOME DEGREE OF A HYPOCRITEEEEEEE (INCLUDING MEEEE) AND THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT :D
(this is all my own thoughts. i'm not trying to hurt anybody in this group. everybody in this group can think what they want. this is just what i've noticed.)
the glow moths are also the most annoying things in AJ by the way
